Easter Egg Hunt

We watched a film about Easter called Hop!

It told the story of the Easter Bunny.

He secretly delivered sweeties.

We wondered if he had been to the school so went out to look.

And guess what?

There were chocolate eggs hidden everywhere!!!!!!

We all rushed to find one.

The Easter Bunny had counted well.

We all found an egg hidden somewhere!

That was lucky:-)

Reading Achievement

Two certificates were given out by Mrs Rendall HT for over and above effort in reading.

Well done:-)

Study Ladder Achievement

There were special certificates handed out by Mrs Rendall HT on the last day for achieving more than 800 points in study ladder.

The extra effort has helped with making good progress.

There are a few more people who will be reaching the 800 point goal very soon.

Everyone is working very well in P1/2 and they all have a great attitude to learning.

We will use study ladder for a wider range of activities in the last term.

Orchestra Performance

We had the orchestra from Stromness Academy visit the school today.

They played three pieces of music.

The whole school went along to listen and Evie School came along too.

We heard about the different types of instruments which make up an orchestra.

Each different section gave us an example of their instruments.

They were all very good.

We saw a PowerPoint which explained the last piece and we all listened to hear the story told by the music.

It was really good and the children really enjoyed it:-)

Singing Jolly Phonics

We went into the nursery to sing our jolly phonics songs for them.

We sang and did our actions.

The nursery children were a very good audience.

Then some of us went outside for different activities.

And others stayed inside.

There were some groovy moves going on!

There was a lot of interest in the ICT area.

And some people chose to work on their maths:-) Great stuff!

Spring Fling

On Friday we had a Spring Fling.

There were lots of different things going on.

A great favourite was the candy floss...mmmm!

There were balloons on sticks...

A baking table...

Bottle stalls...

Raffles...

Lots to eat...

And fancies galore:-)

There was tons of things to do and eat and drink. Everyone had a great time:-)
