Shared reading with P6/7

P6/7 came to read with us today in the afternoon.

P7 learnt about shared reading last term so they are very good at asking good questions and explaining the stories.

P2 chose the books this week.

Next week p1 will join in too.

P1 Parents in for Lunch

I hope all the P1 parents enjoyed their school dinner today.

They are doing very well with ordering and eating their lunch these two days so far.

There is always lots of options. 

The school meals are very good:-)

Active Maths

We started by writing out some numbers to 5 using the whiteboards and pens.

Then we used the plasticine to make the numbers on top.

We could make other numbers if there was enough plasticine.

The number formation and recognition were pretty good, so we decided to see if we could count out objects for different numbers.

We went outside with number plates. We had to collect green things to show the number on the plate we got.

A few people had sums to get their number.

It was a bit windy so that was an added challenge!!!

I think the weather was more problematic than the maths. Well done for the great effort though.

Jolly Phonics

P1 did a learning activity about s this week.

They met Snakey the puppet who told them all about his favourite sound.

He asked them to do some pictures for his house as it was a bit bare!

He thought they could colour pictures of him and make some friends for him too.

P1 did a good job.

Snakey liked them all and put them all in his house.

A good job well done he thought!

Nursery Time

We went to visit the nursery on Friday.

The P1 group looked very grown up after an 8 week holiday.

P2 still enjoy the free play opportunity.

The older children develop the play for the younger children in different areas of the nursery.

It's a good chance for everyone to work together and share ideas.

And a chance to develop friendships.
