Writing the Alphabet

We use white boards in P1/2 quite a lot to develop different skills.

We encourage the children to help each other and ask for help if they need it.

Everyone enjoys learning and they like to give things a go.

We have lots of resources to help if we get stuck but we also know it's okay to make mistakes.

Maths Time

P2 love maths. They particularly love their workbooks.

We hope P1 will also enjoy doing a range of maths activities.

This was the first day we tried workbooks this year.

Everyone tried really hard and concentrated well:-)

P1 are learning to form their numbers correctly.

P2 are recapping on subtraction to ten.

We have made a very good start this term.

Last Day

We all gathered in the hall at 10am on Friday for the end of year service.

The focus was on celebrating the career of our P7 group who were leaving to attend Stromness Academy.

P6 had a poem written for each of the P7 class.

There was a superb guitar piece from 3 pupils who had been attending lessons throughout the term.

Mrs I Rendall gave a speech.

And the P7 class stood up to say thank you and remember some of their highlights.

Miss Miller had worked with the P7 class in a performance for the assembly.

It was great and had only been done over a short period of time.

Mrs I Rendall gave some words of advice for the future.

And she had chosen a song to listen to.

Then there was a presentation of year books and scrolls.

We also said goodbye to Mrs Nicolson.

And goodbye to Miss Smith.

P7 lined up for a traditional handshake.

At the end of the day we all have the P7s a guard of honour as they left the school for the last time as primary pupils.

Have a good holiday everyone:-)
