P4/5 Activities
One group took some children for a story and they added a few actions to make it more exciting for the little ones.
Another group took P1/2 for ICT and they helped them with their learning journal.
The last group were outside for games.
P4/5 were super with the younger class.
Mr Aim Baking Bannocks
We were very lucky today to have an expert baker in to help us.
Mr Aim came to show us how to make bannocks.
He did a great demonstration and told us his recipe.
Mrs Rendall and Mrs Drever have no excuses now for not producing a few decent bannocks!!!
P6/7 got a turn to try their skills under the watchful eye of Mr Aim and they did a great job.
We got a taste at the end of the day and they were definitely better than yesterday's attempt!!!!!
Now we have the skills we will be able to practise.
We will add the recipe to our class recipe book for you to try at home.

Outside Play
Every day we get a chance to be outside for some exercise and active play.
Recipes
P1/2 listened to the Katie Morag story about the Baking Day.
They learnt what Porridgies were and all about the recipe.
They learnt about the preparations needed for baking; washing hands; rolling up sleeves; wearing aprons and looking for the equipment before beginning.
Everyone made a cover for their own recipe book and stuck in the porridgies recipe at the beginning.
Having learnt about recipes from Struay we are going to compare a recipe from Orkney.
We looked at a bannock recipe and gave it a go, but they weren't great! So we have invited in an expert to guide us.
Hopefully we will all be experts after the demonstration tomorrow.
