Measuring Capacity

We are learning a about measuring capacity in maths.

We are learning to estimate the capacity of random containers using spoons and cups as measuring tools.

First comes the estimate, then comes the measuring to check the estimate.

There was a huge range of estimates for spoons of liquid in a cup. Some people thought 10 would fill it, others estimated over 100.

I think the answer may have to be verified!

Then we estimated cups of liquid in other containers.

We worked with partners to test them.

We had good fun and we are trying to learn the correct maths vocabulary.

We ordered the containers into the largest, smallest, tallest and shortest.

It was a lovely day and so we managed to work outside for the wet activity. Phew!
