Model Rockets

We designed our rockets and then we made them.

We painted cardboard tubes.

Made a cone for the nose... that was the trickiest part!

Added wings.

And attached flames to the bottom of the rocket.

We added some details with pens.

We went outside to launch the rockets.

And ended up playing with them for ages.

There are a few repairs needed but they were great fun to play with.

Everyone wanted to take them home but they will be part of our display in the classroom for a little while first!

Personal Achievements

Walking Route

The whole school is adopting a walking route concept for getting active.

It is all about taking 15 minutes to do something active out in the fresh air.

We have a circuit around the school grounds and back to the front door.

It took us 10 minutes to go around the course once.

It was a nice walk and we were all a little tired from the disco and excited about Halloween.

It was good to help us relax and focus on our work.

Class 1/2 go outside as often as possible for learning opportunities and this is something else we can do for a change.

The weather was lovely today so it was a good opportunity to try it out.

We did very well and we enjoyed looking around us at the environment as we went.

Halloween Disco

We had a great Halloween Disco.

There were so many scary costumes!

Some were extremely scary....!

There was dancing...

Glow sticks...

Disco lights...

Drinks and crisps...

Tattoos...

Music...

And games.

We had a few party games and they were great!

Then finished off with a few more dances.

Yikes....! Look behind you!

Hopefully there won't be nightmares tonight!

Aliens Love Underpants

Our topic this term is Space! We are learning about our solar system.

We are also using the topic for some imaginative activities.

We have read a book called Aliens Love Underpants. It was very funny:-)

We decided to design our own underpants.

Then someone had the bright idea of sellotaping them on themselves!!!!

Of course that created great hilarity and everyone had to do the same!

Hopefully our pants won't be stolen by aliens as they were in the book we read.

We would have to go on a mission to get them back.

Thankfully we had some sensible folk who did their space rocket designs.

Those will come in handy for a space mission.

P6/7 Activities on Tuesday

We have P6/7 helping our class on a Tuesday again this term.

They will be helping P1/2 to log onto the laptops and use studyladder and the class blog.

They will progress onto using a word document and copying and pasting photos to print.

P6/7 will also be showing the younger children how to use their new library cards.

Once they have chosen a book from the school library they can scan it using the library computer.

When the book is finished it must also be scanned before it is returned to the shelf.

We had three groups which rotated between the activities every 20 mins.

P6/7 will also be doing games with the class this term. These will be outdoors if the weather is suitable.

Class 1/2 really enjoyed the experience today.
