Harvest Assembly

We started off our assembly with a Birsay Reel from P6/7 boys.

They were great and we all enjoyed their performance.

We sang a whole school song Mrs Jones had taught the children, with actions.

P6/7 then demonstrated some of the drama they had been doing as part of their WWII project.

With a set piece of music P6/7 showed three freeze frames about the evacuations from cities.

The frames and music worked well together.

P5 showed us some of their Viking artefacts.

We heard about the shield and sword.

A helmet.

And Viking coins.

P3/4 told us about their science experiment involving bread.

We saw models of germs.

Heard some disgusting facts.

And learnt how to wash our hands properly.

We also saw our own school harvest of carrots and tatties.

P1/2 sang their phonics song and did the actions for the school to see.

The music failed half way through (technical hitch) but P1/2 sang the songs with no music all by themselves.

It just showed how well they had learnt them. I was a very proud teacher.

Mrs Rendall (HT) read a story to complete the assembly.
