Numeracy Cases

P1 have used their numeracy cases for the first time today.

They had to set out the number digits in a row and then add the correct number of cubes to each digit.

The next step was to put the number words alongside the correct digit.

We have been learning number words for numbers to five.

Everyone should be able to recognise the words one and two.

A few people are managing to five.

And even all the way to ten.

The numeracy cases will be going home in the blue homework bags.

It would be super if you tried this activity at home too:-)

The case contains everything needed but it only has ten cubes.

You can do one number digit at a time and understand there is one more cube added each time as you move along the number line.
