Burns Supper

P1/2 have been working hard to produce table centres for the school's Burns Supper.

We recycled the stands we used for the MacMillan Coffee morning and made them into tartan tubes with thistles and mice instead.

We chose mice because we have been learning to say the first verse of a Robbie Burns poem: To a Mouse.  We learnt the poem as we worked at our table centres.

When we had completed our table centres we took them along to P4/5 who were organising the event.

Everyone had made a great effort to add decorations.

P4/5 were very pleased with our efforts.

We went through for our dinner and we had to go to our seats to start with.  We weren't allowed to drink our cup of Irn Bru which was on the table.  It was for the toast.

We all got ready for the Address to the Haggis.

P4/5 did a tremendous job of learning the poem to say for us at the beginning.

They even stabbed the haggis in true Burns Supper tradition.

Then P1/2 stood up and said the first verse of To a Mouse which we had learnt.  They were brilliant!

Then it was time to eat.
